Window manufacturer sees clear fuel benefit with first Euro 6 MAN truck09 June 2014

Window and door manufacturer Truframe has taken delivery of its first Euro 6 truck, a MAN TGM 18-tonner, and is reporting "impressive" fuel performance.

The TGM 118.250BL 4x2 truck has a demount body, by Transport Enterprises, following Truframe's decision to switch to demounts in 2011.

"Since acquiring the new MAN Euro 6, we're already seeing 13mpg," reports Paul North, transport and despatch manager for the Melton Mowbray-based firm.

"That's impressive for our operation."

Total cost of ownership was the deciding factor, he adds: "The whole-life cost figures certainly stacked up well against the other Euro 6 trucks on the market."

The new truck joins three Euro 5 MAN vehicles delivered in the past two years.
