AES UK has launched the Josam I-track II wheel alignment system. It features new software, simplified user interface and improved workflow. A fixed-bay installation requires only bolting target scales to the floor, although a mobile kit is also available. A new design of wheel adapters uses magnets to attach to wheel bolts; two release handles simplify the process of removing the adapters. The standard package measures four-axis vehicles. New wheel clamp extensions, launched at the same time, fit alloy wheels used in light commercial vehicles.

Aftermarket data firm TecAlliance and tyre manufacturer Continental have developed a hands-free digital voice assistant prototype based on the Microsoft Cortana technology platform. Intended to be used during initial vehicle inspection, the system is said to understand more than 200 voice commands controlling 24 actions. An interface to a TecAlliance repair and maintenance information database provides access to millions of labour times and repair instructions.
