The operator says its pallet work has grown by 25% over the past year, during which time it has also boosted its fleet with seven more pre-owned Mercedes-Benz trucks, supplied under the ‘Approved Used’ banner through dealer City West Commercials.
These include an Actros 2545 BigSpace tractor (pictured), previously a demonstrator used as a demonstrator by the dealer – it arrived with only 52,000km on the clock and is now the WT Transport flagship.
The oldest of the seven additions was also a tractor, a 2546 model with MegaSpace cab from the previous Actros generation, on a 12-plate. The remainder were all rigid curtainsiders: a 65-registered 26-tonne Actros which had covered 25,000 km; two Actros and an Axor, both 18-tonners; and an 8.55-tonne Fuso Canter.
“We’ve always preferred to buy Approved Used vehicles because they represent such outstanding value for money,” said Warren Tattersall, owner of WT Transport.
“City West Commercials carry a good used stock themselves, but through Tim [Sutcliffe, used truck sales executive] I can also access a much wider range of low-mileage vehicles – ex-demonstrators, ‘buy backs’, others that have come off contracts, and so on – which are attractively priced and available within a short timeframe.”
City West’s Tim Sutcliffe was crowned used truck sales executive of the year at the latest Mercedes-Benz dealer awards.
