ZF Transmission celebrates double milestone05 December 2013

ZF Transmission is celebrating a double milestone, passing the 750,000 production mark for its ZF-Ecomid manual CV transmissions worldwide, and reaching the half million at its plant in Boutheon, France, this month (December 2013).

The ZF-Ecomid manual commercial vehicle transmission was launched in 1985: the current version has nine gears and has been designed for medium-duty and heavy trucks with a torque range of between 1,100 and 1,300Nm.

Key features include a starting gear, the crawler, which boosts fuel efficiency, and options include pneumatic Servoshift shift assistance and the Intarder transmission brake.
