Council cleans up with washbay lift from Stertil Koni

East Riding of Yorkshire Council had “no hesitation” specifying Stertil Koni for a new washbay lift, after positive experience with two vehicle lifts from the manufacturer.

The SKY 250 Skylift has a 25-tonne lifting capacity and is supporting washbay activities at the council’s depot in Beverley.

The unit facilitates steam cleaning of vehicles such as RCVs, gritting lorries and road chipping and tar spraying machines; it is also used for other tasks, such as wax oiling the council’s fleet of winter maintenance vehicles.

“We have been using a pair of Stertil Koni vehicle lifts for a number of years,” says Philip Burgess, assistant fleet services manager at East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

“They have provided the performance quality and reliability we demand so, when we needed to replace a 40-year-old washbay ramp, we had no hesitation in specifying the new SKY 250 Skylift.”

The Skylift comes with platform lengths from seven to 14.5 metres, three lifting options of 20, 25 and 35 tonnes, and lifts to a height of 1.75m in 89 seconds.

It also features galvanised platforms and run-ups, stainless steel axle pins, and waterproof fixtures and fittings.
