GDR638 is styled as a high-performance tyre designed for medium-sized trucks and buses.
For traction and braking, Giti has developed a new pattern with four longitudinal grooves, which it says also offers improved vehicle stability and driver comfort.
The new drive axle tyre also has a different casing and footprint design which is claimed to deliver "good regular wear with high-mileage potential".
GDR638 will be available in April in 245/70R17.5 and 235/75R17.5, with seven further 17.5 and 19.5 inch sizes due before the end of the year.
As for the rest of Giti's presence at the CV Show, with 21 patterns on show from a range consisting of 28 tyres, the stand will be split into road, combi, urban, mixed and winter types.
Among those present will be: the GSR225 Combi Road steer axle, which is Euro 6 compliant on all steer applications; the GAU861 all-position urban city-bus tyre; the GAM831 non-directional, all-position mixed service tyre; the GSW226 winter-marked high-traction steer axle tyre; and the GAR820 regional all-position tyres.
