The new addition is a TGM 18.250 with full factory specification sweeper chassis. It has a Johnston Sweepers 652 body, with hopper and integral water tank made from heavy-duty stainless steel plate. The VT652 body houses its own auxiliary engine, which operates independently from the chassis, boosting suction performance and reducing fuel consumption.
The vehicle is powered by the D08 247bhp Euro VI D engine driving through a 12-speed Tipmatic fully automatic gearbox, and features the narrow 2,240mm-wide C cab, which has low entry and high visibility for the driver.
The sweeper is now in service in the operated hire fleet from the Go Plant Barnsley depot, in West Yorkshire.
The TGM has been specified with MAN’s Municipal five-year warranty support package, including Mobile24 breakdown service.
Ben Gilmore, director of road sweeping operations for Go Plant Fleet Services, says: “MAN Truck & Bus have certainly impressed us with their desire to offer us a trusted partnering relationship and their professional method of specifying, building and supplying a specialised vehicle has been appreciated.”
