The manufacturer is appearing at Coach & Bus Live 2015 this week (30 September – 1 October; NEC, Birmingham) and says its range of vehicles offer “the ideal value-for-money route to Low Emission Bus funding”.
To qualify, a vehicle must generate a minimum of 15% less greenhouse gas emissions than a conventional Euro 5 diesel bus. Funding will be proportional to the savings in emissions, and all vehicles must meet Euro 6 emissions standards.
Grants will be capped at 75% of the incremental cost of the Low Emissions Bus over an equivalent conventional vehicle.
Ian Downie, managing director sales & customcare for Wrightbus, says: “Our model line-up is the most fuel efficient and low emission ever, thanks to an innovative and intelligent approach to vehicle technology and reduction in operating costs. With government funding available from the LEB scheme, operators can therefore save money both now and in the future.”
All Wrightbus StreetLite (single deck) and StreetDeck (double deck) Euro 6 buses are now available with second-generation Micro Hybrid technology, incorporating ‘smart’ alternators, electrical radiator and charge air fans, an air charging system and electric power-assisted steering.
Micro Hybrid 3 will be launched next year, he adds, and promises up to 10% more fuel savings than its predecessors.
