Online quiz launched for potential IRTE Skills Challenge contenders

A new online test has been launched for bus and coach technicians planning to enter the 2014 IRTE Skills Challenge.
Competition host S&B Automotive Academy has created the test to allow engineers to assess their knowledge ahead of the Skills Challenge, which takes place on 2-6 June in Bristol. Now in its fourth year, the IRTE Skills Challenge tests mechanical, electrical and bodywork skills to find the best bus and coach technicians. Completing the online test is not an entry requirement for the event, but is designed to help operators choose their best contenders. "The tests are an overview of the general technological knowledge a competent technician should have," says John Winter, S&B's chief executive. "I would advise any potential competitors to test their skills online and see if they're up to the challenge." The test can be accessed via the link below: log in with username 'irtechallenge' and password 'Password#1'. Entry to the IRTE Skills Challenge is free: register at www.soe.org.uk/irteskills by 28 February.
