Two Renault K520 4x4s and a Renault CBH 385 (Sherpa) built by Czech racing truck builder MKR are competing in the truck category of the 40th anniversary Dakar 2018 rally, which runs 6-20 January in Latin America.
The trucks, operated by Mammoet Rallysport, will run through 14 stages, crossing a total distance of 8,710 kms (5,400 mi) through difficult terrain in Peru and Bolivia until reaching the finishing line in Cordoba, Argentina.
The K520 uses a Renault DXI 13 engine prepared by MKR, producing 907bhp and 4,200 Nm torque through a ZF automatic gearbox. Front and rear axles are from AxleTech International. Brakes are from Meritor.
