Rygor welcomes 2023 apprentice cohort

Dealer Rygor Auto welcomed 13 new Mercedes-Benz apprentices into its business as part of its commitment to training and nurturing new talent.

The 2023 apprentice cohort joins 18 young learners already undertaking the Mercedes-Benz apprenticeship programme offered at Rygor Auto.

The cohort will undertake retail parts apprenticeships, customer service expert apprenticeships, and heavy goods vehicles technician and light commercial vehicle technician apprenticeships. They will be supported on their training journey by the experienced team at Rygor Auto and Rygor Group, many of whom started as apprentices themselves.

Rygor Auto provides a programme of support throughout the learning journey, and the business has a development pathway to complement the academy training that Mercedes-Benz provides.

Rygor’s culture and communications executive Talitha Scott, said: “Since joining the business, our newest apprentices have been getting to know their team members at site level, utilising Rygor’s bespoke learning hub to ensure they are fully prepared to work at Rygor’s busy and energetic sites, and enjoying an introduction to their role and the business.

Scott added: “This year, we’re particularly pleased to welcome more female apprentices than ever before, particularly in technician roles. This is a big deal, as we want to help more women succeed in our industry. Earlier this year, our business commenced its five-year DEI&B strategy to look at ways we can do more to make Rygor Group a place where team members feel free to be themselves. We want to see more women join the commercial vehicle industry, so it’s great to see change happening in this regard, and it’s something we’ll continue to focus on.”

In March next year, Rygor will open applications for its 2024/25 apprentice intake.
