The North Western Traffic Commissioner Beverley Bell has been appointed Senior Traffic Commissioner for Great Britain, having been Acting Senior Traffic Commissioner for some time, following the retirement of Philip Brown. Mrs Bell, who is an SOE Honorary Fellow will also continue in her role as Traffic Commissioner for the North West of England.

Volvo Bus has appointed Dan Barwick to the position of area bus Sales manager north. Dan joins from Scania, where he has worked for the past 14 years in various sales positions, most recently covering bus fleet sales.

Euro Commercials has recruited three key sales personnel. The company's new truck sales manager is Mike Boyes, and he is joined by fleet sales manager Paul Kirby, and used truck and Fuso Canter sales specialist Dean Stone.

The MAN board has a new look to it following the addition of Ulf Berkenhagen and Jochen Schumm. Berkenhagen will assume the newly created function of chief purchasing officer, starting his new position in September. Schumm, previously general representative for human resources at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, will now be responsible for human resources on the executive board of MAN SE and the executive board of MAN Truck & Bus AG.

David Wallace has joined motor industry e-commerce specialist epyx in the newly-created key role of sales and business development director.

Dr Dorothy Chan is the new president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport International (CILT), taking up the position on 1st January 2013.

Mercedes-Benz UK Ltd has announced the appointment of Michael Kamper as managing director of its commercial vehicles division.
