Longton, Stoke on Trent-based new truck company Longton Avia has appointed Bob Godwin as sales manager. Godwin has considerable experience in the industry, selling commercial vehicles ranging from the MAN to VW and ERF trucks, as well as working with Enza Mercedes on national fleet sales with operators including Northgate Motor Holdings, TNT Logistics and Excel.

GiTi Tire has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Gillian MacRae as finance controller for Europe. Meanwhile, Peter Foulkes has been promoted to marketing director, Europe for commercial tyres at GiTi Tire.

Peter Geobey is the new finance director at heavy-duty mobile vehicle lifting equipment supplier Somerstotalkare. Managing director Tim Jackson sees the appointment as key to the company's growth.

Bibby Distribution has strengthened its board of directors with the addition of Paul Kavanagh as chief operating officer, reporting directly ito CEO Iain Speak. Meanwhile, Nick Graham, formerly Director of Transport UK and Ireland at Wincanton, has joined Bibby's team of divisional directors.

Jubilee Clips has recruited Chris Wood as its UK sales manager. In his new position, Wood will be responsible for leading office- and field-based sales specialists, and helping them to develop even closer links with wholesale customers.

Greg Peacock is the new finance director for the UK and Ireland at Safetykleen UK. He joins the company from Volvo Construction Equipment where he held the position of chief financial officer.

Nexeon has appointed Michael Black as chief financial officer.
