Volvo Bus has appointed Nick Page as managing director for the UK and Ireland, succeeding Steve Dewhurst, who retired at the end of February. Page has been with the Volvo Group for 17 years, having joined from HSBC in 1995. He held key roles in Volvo's UK truck and finance businesses before joining Volvo Bus in 2001, where he rose to coach sales director.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK (CILT) has chosen transport planner Jim Steer as its new president-elect. He will succeed Graham Inglis in the one-year position from May 2013.

Nicola Escreet is new chair of the 1link Hire Network customer forum, representing users of epyx's daily rental platform for major fleets. The move comes after Escreet assumed the role of deputy chair of the forum in May 2012, having been a regular user of the platform in her position of vehicle hire operations manager for Zenith.

Wrightbus has appointed Robert Drewery as business development director for UK & Europe. Formerly business development director for Pullman Fleet Services, a subsidiary of Wincanton, responsible for development of commercial vehicle maintenance and management services, he will now head up sales, marketing and service for Wrightbus throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.
