Latest publication takes care of troublesome drivers30 July 2019

With its new Driver Reprimand Book, Novadata has provided an excellent way for Operators to make a robust record of any reprimands issued to drivers over breaches in regulations. This handy A5 landscape document allows the Operator to record clearly and concisely any instances of current driving regulations not being followed. The fields covered include reprimands for incorrect use of digital tachographs, infringements of Drivers Hours regulations and breaches of the Working Time Directive.

The Driver Reprimand Book provides fields for both the driver and a company representative to acknowledge the breach of regulations and comment on it, forming a robust record of the reprimand. The book has sufficient duplicated sheets to record up to 50 investigations.

A clear tick box format, with space to write the actions agreed to be taken, ensures that the incident is recorded simply and clearly, pinpointing both the infringement and any remedial measures. The book is designed to form a constructive review of the incident from which both driver and Operator can benefit, helping to reduce the likelihood of further infringements.

Using this new book will also serve as a handy indication if further training is needed for the driver. This can be addressed by the driver attending a subject specific Novadata Driver CPC course as part of their periodic Driver CPC training.

For each incident recorded, the driver in question should be given the top copy of their recorded reprimand as part of the investigation, while the duplicate copy is retained in the book. This provides a robust audit trail demonstrating the organisation’s disciplinary process with regard to drivers who make errors in obeying these aspects of transport law.

The new book can be found among the full range of Novadata compliance products at www.novadata.co.uk.
