The Company operates a fleet of 153 vehicles and employs around 410 staff. The Company operates a high quality bus service through the Yellow Bus brand across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and into East Dorset.The Company also provides coach services on behalf of National Express, connecting the South Coast and London.An effective engineering function is key to our plans and we are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Workshop Supervisor to join our friendly team. Based in a state of the art workshop and reporting to the Engineering Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for all workshop staff on your shift.This role will be focused on ensuring that sufficient, clean and reliable vehicles are available for day to day service by making the best use of systems, people and resources. This will be a combination of routine and pro-active planned maintenance. It is very important that you share your technical expertise through advising, supporting and developing staff.You will also be responsible for ensuring that vehicle information is accurate and up to date.

The successful candidate will be able to manage a varied workload and meet challenging deadlines. As a consequence, you will need to be well organised, calm and cheerful under pressure. You will need at least 3 years’ experience in vehicle maintenance including diagnostics and, ideally, will have worked in a similar role before. Experience in the public transport industry would be an advantage.The role involves some people management, so you will need to be a good role model with strong interpersonal skills and good judgement.You will need a driving licence as there will be the opportunity to train for a PCV licence.

This role is 40 hours per week. The shift pattern will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
