Our engineering function is undergoing an exciting period of development and cultural change in order to ensure that it is fit for the challenges of the future and is working in line with the company’s vision and values. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a transforming business as a Garage Engineering Manager for a well-established and growing public transport provider.
We are looking for a safety conscious individual who is confident in managing a garage, identifying areas of change through root cause analysis whist implementing key efficiency strategies to help drive improved performance across the operation.You will ensure that your fleet is maintained to the highest standard, remains legally compliant and that your customers are happy with the service your team provides. You will do this by leading from the front, inspiring and motivating your staff and developing a culture of continuous improvement. Other responsibilities include managing the garage’s budget and reporting on performance to senior managers.
A proven track record working as a manager or supervisor within an engineering environment is required. An engineering qualification at NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and a qualification/certificate in Health and Safety Management are desirable. You will also be a logical and analytical thinker with the ability to communicate well to all levels of employees and management.
