125th anniversary for Freight Transport Association 23 December 2013

2014 will be a big year on the Freight Transport Association (FTA) calendar as the organisation celebrates its 125th anniversary.

FTA was first established in 1889 as the Mansion House Association on Railway Rates (MHA) and has seen significant change during in its history on the way to becoming the face of the freight transport industry.

"It is a fantastic privilege to be the president of FTA while we are marking its 125th anniversary," comments Ian Veitch.

"I would like to thank the current generation of stakeholders and acknowledge with gratitude the dedication of past generations in leaving us a successful platform upon which to build the next 100 years."

Veitch says that to commemorate its anniversary, FTA will be running several special events and activities throughout 2014.
