3G cameras deliver full visibility for Transline11 August 2015

Home delivery firm Transline Logistics is using 3G cameras from Intelligent Telematics in conjunction with its existing tracking solution to give the business full visibility of all in-house and owner-driver vehicles.

Transline selected the IT1000 3G forward-facing cameras, after evaluating several models including both SD-card and 3G devices. So far 40 have been installed, with plans to roll out the solution to the 200-strong commercial fleet.

The company recognised the benefit of 3G, with its ability to deliver high-definition incident footage online within seconds. The technology also removes the risk of lost, corrupted or tampered data.

Phil Chester, Transline Group's fleet and risk manager, says: "We are committed to assessing and training each of our drivers to meet all legal and health and safety obligations while achieving the highest levels of operational performance.

"We expect the IT1000 3G cameras to help raise standards within the business and we are already seeing a noticeable shift in driver behaviour. Moving forward, this will enable us to improve road safety, reduce insurance costs and enhance duty of care."
