The Edinburgh-based firm will use the vehicles to transport passengers between the airport car park and the terminal. The first vehicle will go into operation in May, with the other following in August.
Both are part-funded by Transport Scotland's Green Bus Fund due to the Micro Hybrid technology, which captures the energy generated from the braking system and redistributes this energy to power the pneumatics, hydraulic and electrical systems – giving fuel savings of up to 10%.
Indeed, fuel performance was a key factor in the purchasing decision, says Steve Dand, director of Secure Airparks.
"We chose the Wrightbus StreetLite due to its suitability for airport transportation purposes and in particular, its excellent fuel consumption," he confirms.
"We look forward to taking delivery of our new StreetLites and to getting them into operation later this year."
