Ambulance service gives green light to Chevin fleet management solution18 September 2019

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) is rolling out Fleetwave software, from Chevin, across its fleet of 1,000 vehicles and 16,000 associated assets.

Fleetwave will be implemented in phases and will be used to optimise workflows, track vehicles and manage compliance for everything from emergency ambulances to stretchers, defibrillators and first-aid kits.

EEAST previously used a legacy system for vehicles across a few sites, but wanted a scalable solution for the whole fleet and associated medical equipment across all locations.

Paul Henry, deputy director of operations support at EEAST, says: “We are pleased that our Trust will soon start to realise the benefits of Fleetwave.

“The system will allow us to effectively track our vehicles in real time while also logging when they will be off the road for servicing or repairs, in turn helping us to effectively manage our fleet and make the best use of our resources on behalf of our patients.

“Introducing Fleetwave should also bring cost savings to EEAST by reducing the amount of admin required to manage our vehicles.”
