The vehicle's pump is submerged in a special water compartment, for effective cooling and reduced noise levels. It is also less prone to freezing, so can operate in lower temperatures.
A Whale LiveTime feedback radio remote control gives operators 30 functions, including status of vacuum pressure, water pressure and engine speed.
"We have been working with Whale for many years and we come back to them with new commissions time and time again," says Frank Milne, wastewater operations east team manager for Scottish Water.
"We selected this tanker due to its high build standard, dependability and Whale's reliable back up for parts and service.
The vehicle will be used for wet well cleaning at pumping stations, as well as sewage cleaning and blockage removal.
