Aquawhale makes a splash at CV Show 2013 08 April 2013

AquaWhale – a new combination tanker that uses liquid ring pump technology – is set to be unveiled by Whale Tankers at tomorrow's Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC (9—11 April 2013) .

The AquaWhale, which has been built for West Country waste specialist Clearflow, joins a fleet of 50 vehicles – predominantly Whale tankers.

Developed, tested and built at Whale's Solihull headquarters, the new tanker has been designed as a multi-purpose unit. The manufacturer says it gives waste operators a "highly flexible machine with great environmental credentials, offering an outstanding whole vehicle life proposition".

Featuring a Kaiser liquid ring pump in the front compartment, the unit requires less pipework than a conventional machine, thereby increasing system performance and efficiency.

As the pump is submerged in a special compartment, cooling is more effective, with the additional benefit of reduced noise. It can also operate at lower temperatures, as the unit is less prone to freezing.

"The new AquaWhale gives us a true multipurpose machine, with the flexibility to handle a variety of work, such as deep lift, digester cleaning, as well as sewer cleaning," comments Bobby Eustis, senior operations manager for Clearflow.

"And, as a Whale product, it comes with the assurance of built-in reliability and in-service support that is vital in our business to minimise machine downtime," he adds.

Whale Tankers' managing director Mark Warmington adds: "Our AquaWhale for Clearflow is a prime example of how we work closely with our clients to create innovative solutions to fit their specific requirements – one of the reasons why our customers continue to return to Whale."
