Bakers goes for gold with Scania coaches03 November 2015

Bakers Dolphin Travel has extended its fleet of custom-built Gold Service vehicles to five, with the latest delivery of another Scania/Irizar PB tourer.

The Weston-Super-Mare operator’s new addition (pictured) is based on Scania’s K 410 EB6x2*4 chassis, with 410bhp SCR-only Euro 6 engine and fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.

The 13.9-metre Irizar PB bodywork has been equipped with 40 luxury leather passenger seats, four of which are positioned in the vehicle’s lounge area where customers can be served refreshments.

Bakers has specified individual sound systems to all passenger seats, seats equipped with middle arm rests and side movement, road camera, aircraft-style rack doors, electric hand dryer in washroom, cordless courier microphone and an integrated vacuum cleaner.

Scania Avonmouth is carrying out repair and maintenance.

Scania has also received another repeat order from Ausden Clark, this time for a 57-seater Scania Irizar i6 with extra dark tinted glass, centre sunken toilet, DVD player and two monitors, seat back tables, Durabright alloy wheels and a driver’s sleeping cabin.

The vehicle is based on a Scania K 410 EB6x2*4 chassis with 410bhp Euro 6 engine, driving through the fully automated Opticruise gear selection system.

Adam Frost, operations director at the Leicester-based operator, says: “We were looking at a high capacity luxury touring coach and found the Scania Irizar i6 to be a perfect combination.”
