Bevan & A&R double up for CV Show aftercare pitch 25 March 2014

Bodybuilder Bevan Group and vehicle repair and refurbishment specialist A&R Vehicle Services say they will be promoting their 24-hour back-up at a joint presentation at next month's Commercial Vehicle Show (29 April to 1 May 2014).

The two Black Country companies have been formally tied since Bevan acquired a stake in A&R last summer, and will be sharing a stand.

Bevan is best known as a builder of dry freight curtainside and box bodies, although it also offers insulated bodies for temperature-controlled applications in partnership with Schmitz Cargobull.

However, the company also looks after some 2,400 vehicles on R&M or pay-as-you-go contracts – a side of the business that has grown 45% in the last year alone, not least because of the DEL tail-lift service contract.

"Operators value the fact that, rather than recovering the vehicle to a workshop, our mobile technicians are able to fix the vast majority of problems either at the roadside or at the customer's own premises," explains aftercare manager Simon Dryburgh.

Backing the Bevan service is A&R Vehicle Services' major accident repair and refurbishment facilities – bolstered recently at its Wednesbury factory by a £40,000 refurbishment of one if its three paint booths.

"The partnership with Bevan represents a big adventure for our companies, and we're both winning new orders for the extended range of services we're now able to offer our respective customer bases," comments A&R managing director George Simpson.
