Birmingham council promotes low-emission benefits ahead of CAZ13 February 2019

Birmingham City Council has launched a website to help fleet managers and owner-drivers to prepare for the city’s forthcoming clean air zone (CAZ), which will be implemented in January 2020.

Called Business Breathes (see link below), the site contains information on low-emission vehicles, grants and incentives available, and recharging and refuelling locations.

It also features a postcode checker to show locations within the CAZ, and a ready reckoner to demonstrate potential savings from swapping to a low-emission vehicle.

Councillor Waseem Zaffar, cabinet member for transport and environment at Birmingham City Council, said: “The Clean Air Zone will represent a significant change in terms of the way people travel around the city, so it is important that those who rely on the use of vehicles for their business are able to make the necessary preparations and access the relevant support ahead of its implementation in January 2020.”
