Boost to apprentices as Transport for London seeks 100 05 October 2012

Transport for London has announced that it will begin recruiting up to 100 graduate trainees across its business next week, including in engineering, project management and technical.

TfL, which also took on 86 graduate trainees last month, says that the new positions are part of refreshing the city's transport network.

"TfL, along with the Mayor and our suppliers, are all committed to offering fantastic opportunities both on our graduate and apprenticeship schemes," comments transport commissioner, Peter Hendy CBE.

"The transport industry needs highly motivated recruits and we can offer a long and fulfilling career with world class training. I know, as I started as a graduate trainee in 1975," he adds.

TfL's suppliers are also now creating 650 apprenticeships in this financial year, covering a variety of disciplines including vehicle maintenance and repair engineering apprenticeships.
