Brian Yeardley selects Schmitz Cargobull secure box trailers 16 March 2016

Brian Yeardley Continental has taken delivery of 10 Schmitz Cargobull high-security, low-ride box trailers for its expanding international exhibition and events logistics division.

Kevin Hopper, managing director of the West Yorkshire-based logistics firm, says that the performance of existing Schmitz Cargobull trailers, coupled with their security features and low unladen weight sealed the deal.

“In our opinion, these are the best box van trailers on the market,” states Hopper.

“They offer us maximum security, but they are also a tonne lighter than the nearest competitor,” he continues.

“This is a huge advantage as we are able to keep our operating costs low by maximising on payload with every journey.”

Due to the high-value audio-visual equipment being transported, the trailers have been fitted with ultra-secure SBS locks – a bolt-through system with no parts on the outside.

Schmitz Cargobull’s technical team also worked with Brian Yeardley’s Trucking events team – leading to bespoke loading ramps and ramp carriers, as well as extra locking and load securing points.

The trailers also feature bespoke lighting for night time loading and unloading – including interior multi-chamber low-energy LEDs on a timer.

The new trailers also user Schmitz Cargobull’s Ferroplast body panels, constructed using galvanised steel sheeting.

These panels offers greater security, are easier to repair than GRP and do not absorb moisture.
