BRS wins Trans Haul Europe contract with Renault Trucks 08 January 2013

Commercial vehicle hire company BRS has won a contract that sees Trans Haul Europe taking the first Renault trucks into its 30-strong mixed fleet of Scania, Iveco, Volvo and DAF tractor units.

Trans Haul Europe has taken delivery of six Renault Premium 460 6x2 tractor units, acquired through Renault Trucks Chiltern.

Specification-wise, these Euro 5 EEV engined vehicles have been fitted with the Optidriver+ automated gearboxes and Privilege high roof sleeper cabs. The trucks were supplied through BRS under a four-year contract hire package at 120,000km a year.

"We are really pleased with the package supplied by BRS which, not only represents great value for money, but enables us to manage all our costs in advance," comments Nigel Machado, managing director of Trans Haul Europe.

"Our fixed budget includes tyres, servicing, MOTs and even road tax, so we don't have to worry about any additional costs every month."

Machado reveals that the decision to go with the French truck maker was taken after trialling a Premiumtractor unit, which, he says, demonstrated impressive fuel economy.

"The vehicle was returning 9.3mpg, which is much better than any of the other trucks on our fleet. We are now looking to replace some of our rigid trucks and, thanks to both the service from BRS and the success of the Renault product, we will be working with BRS to take more Renaults in the near futures" states Machado.
