Burleys trims up fleet with Iveco New Daily 3.5 tonners 29 October 2015

Grounds maintenance firm Burleys has taken delivery of three Iveco New Daily light commercials, each with the factory-built seven-person crew cab.

They join Burleys 140-strong fleet and have each been fitted with a lightweight plant body with beavertail by Solent Bodyworks to accommodate specialist machinery and equipment.

“We already run two Iveco 7.5 tonne Eurocargos and one 5.2 tonne Daily, and have been extremely pleased with their reliability, performance and versatility,” comments Burleys director, Giles Burley.

The New Daily 35C13 chassis cabs are powered by the 126bhp 2.3 litre direct injection Iveco engine which delivers torque up to 320Nm from 1,800 to 2,750 rev/min.

Burley says he appreciates the vehicles’ strength and durability – due to their ladder frame chassis, engineered with C-section side members in steel.

“The nature of our business means we work our vehicles hard and require a 3.5 tonner that can handle anything we throw at it during its seven year life,” he states.

“Vehicles also need to have excellent manoeuvrability for some of the sites we access, and here New Daily really delivers,” he continues.

“Another key factor which led to us choosing Iveco was the shorter lead time. Hendy Van & Truck [delaer] and Keyvans [leasing provider] ensured we got the vehicles into service several months sooner than was possible with other brands we explored.”
