Bus operator goes green with Optare Versa hybrids17 October 2014

Bus operator Courtney has introduced two Optare Versa hybrid vehicles for its routes around Wokingham.

A long-term Optare customer, Finchampstead-based Courtney already has Solo, Tempo and Optare double-deck vehicles, and these are the first Versas to enter its fleet.

"We made history in 2002 when we were the first bus company in Britain to run our fleet on biofuel," says Bill Courtney-Smith, owner.

"Since then we have remained true to our green policy, seeking out the latest in bus technology for our fleet. So the Optare Versa hybrid was a natural choice for us."

The 11.7m hybrids were purchased with support from the government's Green Bus Fund.
