Car transporter industry helps Ford with cancer support 25 May 2012

Volvo Trucks, together with dealer MC Truck & Bus, car transporter manufacturer Transporter Engineering and vehicle livery specialist Sign-It, are helping Ford employees publicise their fundraising activities for the Macmillan Cancer Support charity.

The above companies have co-sponsored the Macmillan support livery on one of the 17 latest Volvo FM tractor units to join the car manufacturer's fleet of transporters.

Designed by Kevin Knight, senior supervisor, Ford outbound vehicle logistics, the bright green livery has turned the car transporter into a highly visible, mobile fundraising advertisement for Macmillan Cancer Support. Panels on both sides of the cab list the sponsors' names.

As part of a charity fundraising drive, employees at the car manufacturer have raised funds amounting to £140,000 for Macmillan through voluntary charitable donations from individuals.

The amount raised was boosted as a result of large numbers of Ford employees voluntarily donating an hour of their pay – their last hour's pay of the year 2011.
