Carlson Vehicle Transfer raises fleet visibility with Seven Telematics03 February 2016

Carlson Vehicle Transfer has standardised on GPS vehicle tracking from Seven Telematics across its 150-strong fleet of car transporters, and says it now has unprecedented levels of fleet visibility.

Carlson’s fleet includes large transporters, capable of carrying 12 vehicles, to fully enclosed single vehicle trucks.

“We deal with a range of important customers... so it’s vital that we have full visibility and accountability of our fleet as we carry high value loads,” says Carl Richardson, director.

“We now have a tracking system that gives us full coverage at all times, wherever our vehicles are working.”

The operator has worked with Seven Telematics for nine years and Richardson says the relationship has stood the test of time, thanks to Seven’s ability to adapt its tracking system to work with Carlson’s traffic management software.

Seven’s system covers detailed CANbus data for driver and engine management analysis, as well as automatic weekly KPIs.

Additionally, it feeds data directly into Carlson’s third party traffic management software system (HNF) every five minutes, to assist with ongoing traffic planning.
