Carrier has right ingredients for Scottish foodservice business04 October 2019

Williamson Foodservice has purchased two new Volvo refrigerated trucks, each equipped with a Supra 1150 MT (multi-temperature) unit from Carrier Transicold.

The Inverness-based operator’s new additions are both 18-tonne Volvo FE rigids, fitted with Gray & Adams bodies, and they join a 40-strong fleet.

Williamson Foodservice has specified Carrier’s refrigeration units for 19 years, citing reliability and performance. “With Carrier, we know we’re getting refrigerated units that will just get the job done, without any fuss,” says Gary Williamson, the operator’s managing director.

“Our trucks often operate on multi-drop delivery routes stretching in excess of 200 miles and are on the road all day, so it’s vital we have total faith in their ability to deliver our produce in exactly the same condition as it was when it was loaded.”

The Supra 1150 MT unit provides constant airflow – independent of engine speed – enabling rapid pull-down and accurate multi-temperature set point control.

The two new vehicles are expected to be in operation for five years, delivering both frozen and chilled produce, and covering 100,000 miles a year.
