Carrier Transicold unveils 150-point health and safety check 30 April 2012

Carrier Transicold has launched a 150-point assurance review programme which it says is aimed at health and safety best practices across its truck and trailer temperature control service partners in the UK.

Carrier Safe was developed with the EEF (Engineering Employers' Federation), which will carry out independent annual reviews of all UK service partners on behalf of Carrier Transicold.

According to Ross Thomson, network operations manager for Carrier Transicold UK, the reviews will be based on a comprehensive set of criteria covering everything from environment, health and safety (EH&S) policies to waste management.

"Health and safety is a key focus for Carrier Transicold, both as a manufacturer and as an employer," explains Thomson.

"Carrier Safe further raises the bar in our health and safety programme, and helps to better protect our customers' businesses," he continues.

"This is an opportunity to record where we are as an organisation and to ensure that all elements of the business are supported," states Thomson.

Carrier Safe will also be incorporated into Carrier Transicold's annual performance, assessment and competitive excellence (PACE) awards scheme in 2012.

As well as highlighting any areas where health and safety standards can be bolstered, it will reward the best performing service partners – with the chance to re-invest back into their own safety programmes with additional funding from Carrier Transicold.
