Carr’s Flour drives off with milestone DAF XF from Leyland01 December 2015

Carr’s Flour has been handed the keys to its latest acquisition, a DAF XF tractor – the 400,000th commercial vehicle to roll off the line at Leyland Trucks.

Steve Mattinson, transport manager at the Cumbria-based business, was invited to Leyland Trucks as part of the production facility’s Building Britain customer events – hosted jointly by Leyland Trucks and DAF Trucks UK.

“I’m very proud indeed to be a DAF operator,” said Mattinson. “My company has a long history of acquiring British-built trucks, and it’s fantastic to see Leyland Trucks thriving today.”

Carr’s Flour runs 10 trucks from its base in Silloth and six from its Kirkaldy site, predominantly DAF XF and CF vehicles, and the new truck is its first Euro 6 vehicle.

“I’m confident we have an ultra-reliable truck supported by the industry’s best aftersales service,” he adds.
