Cartwright adds aerodynamic rigid to Cheetah range 14 March 2011

The Cub is the latest model in Cartwright Group's Cheetah aerodynamic commercial vehicle range.

The Manchester-based body and trailer builder has launched a 3.5-tonne urban delivery vehicle that can be based on a 3.5 to 5.5-tonne vehicle design.

Featuring a new aerodynamic front mould design, as well as side collars and bodywork, the new van has what Cartwright claim is a unique innovation on the rear door, to aid loading and unloading.

Steven Cartwright, director of the Cartwright Group, explains that its Rampdoor is a door that converts into a ramp and replaces the need for a tailift, while offering simple operation for deployment and stowage.

When it is not used as a ramp, it operates as a conventional door. Manufactured from lightweight materials, it also incorporates a slip resistant surface for safety.

"The Cub is a major product development for the company, as we increase our exposure to the urban delivery market," comments Cartwright.

"The lightweight features of the Cub, together with the innovative Rampdoor option, will make this a very attractive product, particularly for high street retailers."

In fact, Cartwright claims the company has already received its first major order for the Cub, from a high street retailer, even before the latest addition to the Cheetah family has been launched.
