Chimflue goes all Mercedes-Benz with latest Citan 25 March 2014

Chimflue is now using three from the Mercedes-Benz lineup: a Citan 109 CDI Long, a Long-bodied Vito and a Medium-length Sprinter.

The Andover-based firm designs, builds and installs flue and chimney systems and is currently celebrating its Silver Anniversary.

Managing director Sam Ford says it selected Mercedes throughout because the vans "are fit for purpose, reliable and cost-effective to operate".

The latest to join his small fleet is the Citan, and all three are now maintained under ServiceCare agreements by local Dealer Pentagon Commercials.

The Sprinter and Vito are assigned to two-man installation teams and are regularly used to tow a cherry picker. The bigger Sprinter carries scaffold towers, pallets, flexible liners and larger equipment.

The Citan has now been allocated to a team that undertakes smaller installations, as well as carrying out snagging jobs.

The company also owns another Vito, a Dualiner model with a second row of seats, which it uses regularly to support project work.

"Pentagon Commercials' out of hours servicing capability is a big attraction," comments Ford.

"It means we can drop a vehicle off at the end of the day and get it back first thing next morning, ready to go to work again."
