Citroën reveals new product line-up for CV Show 201331 January 2013

French manufacturer Citroën has announced that its all-new Berlingo Electrique van will be present at the Commercial Vehicle Show (NEC, 9-11 April).

The 100% electric van builds on Citroën's experience of electric LCVs in the UK – which goes back to the first generation Berlingo Electrique, launched in 1998.

Citroën's says the new Electrique incorporates the latest electric vehicle technology, with the vehicle's motor positioned under the bonnet, and a lithium-ion battery pack underneath the vehicle's load deck. This allows for a load compartment of up to 3.7m3 and payload of 636kg.

With a total battery capacity of 22.5kW/h, the Berlingo Electrique has a range of up to 106 miles. Using a domestic socket, the vehicle can be charged in around 8.5 hours or, alternatively, it can be charged to 80% of capacity in 35 minutes using a 380V three-phase terminal.

The van's permanent magnet synchronous electric motor produces 49kW (67bhp) and has a peak torque of 200Nm. The motor drives the front wheels through a speed reducer and a single-ratio gearbox.

Citroën's CV Show stand will also be the launch platform for several other new LCV products, including the new Dispatch L1H1 HDi 125 six-seat Crew Van and Stop & Start equipped Relay vans.
