Clean Air Power launches Genesis Edge dual-fuel Volvo Euro 5 in Australia 26 May 2011

Heavy duty, dual-fuel methane and diesel engine conversion systems developer Clean Air Power has launched a dual fuel Volvo FM13 Euro 5 in Australia.

Clean Air Power CEO John Pettitt explains that Australia is a mature dual fuel market, and the firm's existing Caterpillar product, which has sold more than 200 units, is reaching the end of its life cycle, having been operational since 2001.

The new Volvo tractor unit product, dubbed Genesis Edge, started trials with Murray Goulburn in December last year and was certified for sale this month (May 2011).

Murray Goulburn has now ordered an additional six units for immediate delivery, and CAP says it has now received orders for a total of 15 new units, worth £470,000.

"The increasing number of orders we are receiving in Australia for our Genesis Edge installations underpins the growing confidence that the market has in our product," comments Pettitt.

"We now have a fleet of 22 dual-fuel vehicles operational in Tasmania, which represents nearly 50% of LNG vehicles on the road in the state."
