Converter launches all-electric range based on Nissan e-NV20018 March 2020

Vic Young Conversions is offering a new range of fully electric vehicles, including box vans and dropside tippers, all converted from the Nissan e-NV200.

The e-NV200 box van offers a 575kg payload, low-level entry and a load capacity of 8.5m3 – an increase from the 3.9m3 of the standard e-NV200.

The dealer says this is the first such conversion to appear in the UK. The box van is available with options such as a choice of rear closures, twin-sided roller shutters and internal racking, and costs from £34,000.

Range is up to 187 miles and it comes with a five-year/100,000-mile warranty for design and manufacturer defects; the 40kWh battery comes with an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.

Vic Young has also designed an electric taxi for wheelchair access, which has undergone testing with councils. It has already been approved by Nottingham and Dundee, and London Hackney approval is “very near completion”.

Designed with energy-absorbing properties and airbags throughout, the taxi can seat up to four passengers and one wheelchair passenger, or six passengers without a wheelchair.

An electric dropside tipper has also been completed, says the company, and is now available for sale.

“We always look ahead with our conversion projects so that we can transform the market in new, exciting ways and I think the all-electric NV200 box van and wheelchair access taxi is evidence of this,” says Vic Young, managing director of the family-owned business.

“I firmly believe the market is ready to go all-electric with vehicles for trade and industry.”

The converter has COP accreditation from the Vehicle Certification Agency, as well as European Whole Vehicle Type Approval for its products.
