Cool delivery for courier firm01 November 2013

Midlands courier firm Burton Sameday has taken delivery of a refrigerated Mercedes SWB 313 Sprinter on long-term rental from Burnt Tree.

Burton Sameday already had ambient dry freight vehicles on rental from the company, so when Burnt Tree launched its Refrigerental division, it was an obvious choice for temperature-controlled vehicles, too.

The Sprinter is fitted with a Carrier Xarios 350 direct-drive refrigerated system, which can cover temperatures from -18° C to +10° C. Burton has already ordered another identical vehicle to add to its 36-strong fleet.

Rob Crisp, operations manager, says: "We have developed a specialist service delivering urgent pharmaceutical supplies to patients' homes and businesses, as well as a range of foodstuffs, so our fleet of refrigerated vehicles is continuing to grow. We have been impressed by our dealings with Burnt Tree in Derby for the dry freight vehicles, so it was a natural progression for us to source our next refrigerated vehicle from them as well."

Burnt Tree's Refrigerental division can provide a wide selection of vehicles across the UK, ranging from car-derived vans and panel vans, up to 18-tonne and 26-tonne rigid trucks, covering both single and multi-temperature applications.
