Council drains fuel inefficiency with new Euro 6 Whale tankers11 March 2016

Solihull Council has replaced three old lease-hire vehicles with specialist drain and gully cleaning tankers from Whale Tankers.

The new tankers are fitted with the latest equipment to enable easier cleaning of the 36,000 road gullies across the streets of Solihull, along with Euro 6 engines to save fuel and cut carbon emissions.

Cllr Ted Richards, cabinet member for transport and highways for Solihull Council (pictured, right, with Whale Tankers’ MD Mark Warmington), says: “Our new tankers will be a cost-saving, efficient and effective way to keep the highway drainage network around the borough clean.

“I’m delighted that Whale Tankers, a local business, have been able to fit the new vehicles with the specialised equipment.”
