Crossgear beefs up MAN trucks ‘green’ fleet 25 January 2011

Irish food distribution firm Crossgar Foodservice has added a further 10 fridge-bodied MAN TGM 15.250BL 15 tonne rigids to its truck fleet.

This takes the total to 20 MAN trucks delivered in the last 12 months, which now sees MAN making up around 50% of the 65-strong fleet.

The latest Euro 5 rigids are fitted with refrigerated bodies by Lifford Coachworks, of County Donegal, and are temperature controlled with Frigoblock front-mounted refrigeration units.

Crossgar says it like MAN trucks, thanks in part to their green credentials, including its EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) 'Add Nothing' engine technology.

"We've always had a strong relationship with MAN," comments transport manager Darren Hughes. "We looked at MAN's solution to Euro 4 and 5 and were very pleased to see it could provide a 'no AdBlue' solution."
