Cummins launches Euro 6 turbocharger 30 January 2014

Cummins Turbo Technologies has launched a Euro 6-compliant turbocharger, the latest addition to its Series 200 range.

The HE 200 VG turboc is designed for engines from 3 to 6 litres and will be fitted to the Cummins ISB 4.5-litre engine, used in buses such as those from Alexander Dennis, VDL, Anadolu Isuzu and TfL's Wrightbus.

The turbocharger was designed and tested at Cummins' European technical centre in Huddersfield, with further duty cycle testing in Darlington, and field trials in hot and cold climates, as well as at altitude.

The HE 200 VG meets Euro 6 emissions requirements and, says Cummins, delivers response improvements over the wastegate turbochargers used for Euro 5.

The product can be tailored to meet a range of duty cycles demanded by vehicle manufacturers.
