DAF delivers for urban operators with two new models28 October 2015

DAF Trucks unveiled two new models to UK buyers at yesterday’s Freight in the City expo (Alexandra Palace, London; 27 October), both designed for urban operations.

The CF 400 FT 4x2 tractor is equipped with Silent Mode, allowing it to meet low-noise standards for night- time deliveries with noise levels below 72 dB(A).

Also on display was DAF’s CF 440 FAD low-height 8x4 rigid tipper which, says DAF, takes cyclist safety to the next level, with a new floor-height window in the passenger door.

The vehicle is based on the CF low-height haulage chassis, with its cab mounted 150mm lower, so improving visibility from the cab.

The vehicle – which is a CLOCS demonstrator – features Side Scan technology from Brigade Electronics, to warn cyclists when the vehicle is turning left. It also has VUE, a camera system to show drivers the entire nearside of the vehicle.
