DAF sails in with 120-strong order for Euro 6 XF tractors23 June 2015

Container operator Maritime Transport has taken delivery of the first 70 trucks of a 120-strong order for Euro 6 DAF XF tractors.

The XF 460 FTG Super Space cab trucks are already returning improved fuel performance compared to Euro 5 models, according to the Felixstowe-based operator.

And, according to Stuart Wardlaw, Maritime's fleet engineer, further benefits are anticipated from the new trucks' predictive cruise control.

"DAF is forecasting even better fuel economy from its predictive cruise control and we're looking forward to seeing that translate into real-time operations," says Wardlaw.

"The new DAF is an exceptionally good design and the Super Space Cab provides excellent comfort – and our drivers simply love them," he adds.
