Doctor Airbrake prescribes healthy outlook with vehicle maintenance services05 October 2018

Airbrake business Doctor Airbrake has moved its product and service divisions into a single, larger site at Slade Heath, Wolverhampton, following “significant growth” in vehicle maintenance services in addition to its core airbrake operations.

The diversification into vehicle maintenance has come after three decades of commercial vehicle diagnostics and repair, and has led to new contracts including a full fleet management deal with haulier DE O’Reilly.

The contract sees Doctor Airbrake maintaining O’Reilly’s varied fleet, including railway infrastructure vehicles, flat beds, Moffat Mounty trucks and Hiabs.

The new site has an 8,000 sq ft workshop with three pits, a CNC engineering shop and brake test bay.

“Closer alignment between the product and service teams will allow for greater harmonisation of our final installed systems,” says Jeff Lowe, founder and technical director of Doctor Airbrake.

“We’re really excited about the move as it marks the next chapter in the company’s progression towards being a globally recognised provider of innovative solutions to the commercial vehicle market.”
