Drivers Direct helps find agency work for heroes 03 October 2014

Commercial vehicles drivers agency Drivers Direct has launched a campaign with the BFRS (British Forces Resettlement Services) to help find work for ex-service men and woman as they look to return to civilian lifestyle.

The agency says it will support all of the non-profit organisation's events organised for servicemen and woman to meet with potential employers.

Drivers Direct will also work with BFRS to help train and place ex forces personnel in its own network to meet the growing demand for commercial drivers in the UK.

"We feel it is extremely important to help individuals who have represented our country in the armed forces to get them settled into civilian life and find meaningful work," states Gethin Roberts, managing director of Driver Direct.

"Ex-service personnel are often reliable, resourceful and skilful candidates who are able to utilize the skills they have gained in the forces," he adds.

Established in 2002, Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and forklift drivers through to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers.

BFRS was set up in 2009 to help service men and woman make the transition from the military to the civilian world.
