Eco-friendly Mercedes-Benz Vito is anything but plain 29 March 2011

Kitchen specialist Plain English says it has been realising the benefits of green transportation after taking delivery of two of the first Euro 5-compliant Mercedes-Benz Vito vans in the UK.

Both models feature Mercedes' Eco-Start system to save fuel, and were supplied by Orwell Truck & Van in Ipswich.

The company says its new Compact Vito 113CDIs are being used by its fitters, who travel nationwide to install these much sought-after kitchens.

Jennifer Joyce, Plain English's general manager, says the company was determined to minimise its carbon footprint, and that key to this was a commitment to operating fuel-efficient vehicles.

"Given our portfolio of clients, it's also of paramount importance that the quality of the delivery vehicles we use reflects the quality of the products we sell," she says. "Our preference for Mercedes-Benz vans goes a long way towards helping us achieve this."
